Nurse Advocate

Those nurses, who are considered as the link between the patients and the health care providers to improve the quality of care, are known as nurse advocates. These nurses provide the details to the patients regarding their health, illnesses and treatments which they require. These nurses have the right to debate with the doctors regarding the treatment of the patients. The main purpose of these nurses is to provide complete and detailed education about the illness of the patients. They assist them in every step of decision making process. These nurses are very sound and knowledgeable.

• Education Criteria for Nurse Advocate:

Before becoming a nurse advocate a candidate has to first complete bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). After successful completion of BSN the individual must pass the National Council Licensure exam for registered nurses. After earning this license a nurse becomes licensed and can practice in any hospital or clinic. Later in the line a nurse then gains some experience in practical field and then it is advised to get enrolled for different programs that offer courses like communication strategies, insurance systems, health care advocacy and health care liaison etc.
